Dangerous intersections: U.S. 41 is accident central throughout south Lee
The Daily News reviewed crash reports from 2006 through 2008 for 22 intersections south of Daniels Parkway, determining which had the most accidents and the highest crash rates compared with traffic volume. Of about 1,400 crashes in the three-year period of the Daily News analysis, about half were rear-end collisions. Another 450 weren’t classified. Bad economy? Collier commission candidates raise nearly $300,000
The five Republicans running for the two open seats on the Collier County Commission have raised a combined total of more than $297,000 for their war chests, according to a Daily News records search of each candidate’s financial records from Jan. 1, 2009, through July 27. The financial records include filing information from the most recent campaign treasurer report, due July 23. Collier School Board candidates get money from teachers, Realtors, lawyers
Their coffers might not be getting any bigger, but Collier County School Board candidates have brought in a significant amount of money for the 2010 election.
