Site work begins at Mercato

The Lutgert Companies and The Barron Collier Companies announced that site preparation and fill work has begun at Mercato, a 53-acre Main Street center the partners are developing at the corner of U.S. 41 and Vanderbilt Beach Road in North Naples.

The site preparation and fill work will be followed by utility installation. Opening of the center is anticipated in fourth quarter of 2008.

When completed, Mercato will feature 175 residences priced from the $500,000's to over $1 million, approximately 330,000 square feet of retail space, 100,000 square feet of Class A office space and a planned 60 room boutique hotel. The retail component of the center will be anchored by a 50,000 square foot Whole Foods Market, an eleven screen premium theater, seven restaurants and a variety of nationally known fashion and home retailers.
