Wing City Grille to open today

Tuesday, July 17, 2007

— New Estero eatery Wing City Grille is set to open at 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 17, on the corner of U.S. 41 and Corkscrew Road in Estero, located in the Corkscrew Village Plaza.

The menu features a broad range of chicken wings in nearly every style of sauce imaginable, from the expected -- mild, hot, extra-hot -- to the unexpected, including Key lime, bourbon and spicy peanut.

Owner Steve Carlson originally hails from outside Buffalo, and insists the wings are authentic Buffalo-style and are never breaded.

For non-wing lovers, the menu is extensive, including a wide range of sandwiches and salads, including burgers, Reubens, Rachels and another Buffalo specialty, beef on weck, featuring roast beef on a kummelweck roll, which incorporates caraway seeds and salt, along with traditional accompaniments such as horseradish. There are plenty of Italian options as well, with manicotti, chicken parmesan and lasagna on the menu.

There will be live entertainment on Friday and Saturday nights, and karaoke on Wednesdays.

The price range is $8-14, and a full bar is available. Opening 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 17. Call 498-2416
