No 'click it' equals more than 2,600 tickets

The Collier County Sheriff's Office's 2007 "Click It or Ticket" Memorial Day Campaign is over and the results are in.

During the two-week campaign from May 21 until June 3, Collier deputies wrote 2,605 seat belt tickets and 126 child restraint tickets, according to the sheriff's office.

This year's Memorial Day campaign resulted in 179 more tickets than the 2006 campaign. During last year's two-week span deputies issued 2,442 selt belt tickets and 110 child restraint tickets, reports the sheriff's office.

Even though "Click It or Ticket" is over, the sheriff's office will continue to enforce the seat belt and child restraint laws.
