Oktoberfest events on tap tonight, Sunday

OKTOBERFEST AT VENETIAN BAY

Celebrate the coming of fall German-style with authentic Oktoberfest music, food and fun at The Village on Venetian Bay.

Artichoke & Company will be serving up authentic German fare and a whole host of delicious specialties from 5-9 p.m. tonight.

Accordionist Gail Keel will be strolling through the shops and sidewalks of Venetian Village and along the waterfront playing lively German tunes.

German entertainer, Manni Daum, and Son Jason will perform on the accordion, keyboard, saxophone and trumpet.

Other highlights will include pumpkin painting, juggling and a balloon artist.

OKTOBERFEST AT THE ESPLANADE

An Oktoberfest event to benefit the Marco Island YMCA will be held from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday at the Esplanade on Marco Island.

The "Sounds of Yesteryear" band will be playing authentic polka, German bierhouse and ragtime music.

German food from area restaurants will be available for purchase. Beverages include soda, German and American beer.

A special children's play area will also be available.

All food, drink and game tickets will be sold in $1.00 increments. A 50/50 drawing will also be held.

There is a $5.00 admission fee. Children 12 and under free.
